Outreach

“They stand by workers when it matters most. TWC2 provides real help with genuine care—I strongly recommend them.” – Bangladeshi worker reviewing our Facebook page

Not every worker in trouble knows where to turn, so TWC2 reaches out to them both digitally and physically. Through outreach, we connect workers to practical support like advice on their rights, medical help, and assistance with basic needs. The goal is to make help easier to find, and to step in early before problems get worse.

On our 3 vernacular Facebook pages, we share critical information with workers. This includes details about their employment rights, Singapore’s laws, and steps they can take to seek help. Mutli-lingual content creation is resource intensive, and we work extensively with a team of interpreters and volunteers to deliver accessible content in Bengali, Tamil and Burmese.

We also hold quarterly events to reach workers where they already spend their time – on rest days, in dormitories, or in public spaces. These events take different forms, depending on the venue and community we’re reaching out to: drop-in clinics, roadshows, festive events or fun outings. For many workers, this may be their first chance to ask questions or talk about problems they’ve been facing.

Lastly, outreach goes beyond handing out information, to building trust with different migrant communities. We also support groups who serve their own communities, and refer those in in trouble to us.

Outreach events: highlights

Coinciding with Thingyan, the Burmese new year, TWC2 organised an event at East Coast Park to boost our connection with the Myanmar migrant worker community. In planning this event, we partnered with one of the trusted members of their community, social media influencer Ma Htet Htet, who was very helpful in promoting the event and advising on what would be culturally suitable or popular. The event helped to build rapport, ensuring not only that more in the community know about TWC2 and the help we can provide, but also create a casual familiarity that makes it easy for workers to approach us whenever needed.

On a Sunday afternoon in February 2025, TWC2 held a Singpass and ibanking helpdesk at an event space on Desker Road. Our fleet of volunteers, joined by DBS bank, assisted 130-150 workers with their digital needs.

In April 2025, TWC2 held an outreach event on Lazarus Island, bringing together nearly 300 migrant workers from India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. The day offered workers the chance to know about our services, as well as an afternoon of fun and relaxation on the island’s stunning shores.

We’re deeply grateful to our generous partners and sponsors for making this day possible: Into The Woods, Marina South Ferries, and DBS Bank.

In 2024, TWC2 brought a Sunday breakfast party to the residents of Westlite Woodlands dormitory. Residents were treated to a buffet spread, photobooth, and magic show – as well as a talk by our caseworkers about a key salary document: the In-Principle Approval (IPA).

Impact of our digital reach

Since Covid-19, our Facebook page has provided Bangladeshi migrant workers with critical information about Singapore’s Employment Laws. Through the efforts of our interpreters and volunteers, workers can access clear and accurate information in Bengali. Our online presence has bolstered our reputation within the Bangladeshi community, and many workers approach us to discuss their problems because they see us as a trusted and authoritative source of information about Singapore’s laws.

In the first half of 2026 alone, the page was viewed by 392k people, and it has now gathered over 50k followers.

The Myanmar community has many influencers who support their own community, and most workers rely on these personalities for information about working in Singapore. In 2024, TWC2 launched our Burmese Facebook page to provide accurate and updated information on Singapore’s employment laws, and inform workers from Myanmar about our services. The page now has 21k followers, and workers from Myanmar formed 10% of our clients in 2025 (up from 0.5% in 2023). With the hard work of our interpreters and volunteers, we have also launched a Tiktok page in Burmese in 2026, to connect with the community on that platform.

Our TWC2 Tamil Facebook page allows Indian Tamil workers to access clear information about their employment rights in their own language. While the community is more reserved, and engagement on the page is lower than the others, the page remains a key avenue through which workers find out about our services.

Tamil workers continue to be a key community that TWC2 serves, forming 14% of our clients in 2025.
